David Elliott has retired from his position as Head of Engineering after a career spanning more than 4 decades with Drallim Industries.
David started his career as an apprentice in the machine shop in 1976, his first tasks were deburring and clearing out the swarf from valve bodies, going home night after night covered in oil proving he was not afraid of getting his hands dirty. After finishing his apprenticeship and passing his college qualifications he went on to become a Telecom Sales Engineer in 1980 and travelled all over the world.
After a brief spell away from Drallim, David returned in 1986 to take on the role of Engineering Manager, later to become the Head of Engineering. He continued in this role for 35 years until his retirement in June 2020.
For a leaving gifts David was given a is a brand new Brooklands steering wheel, made by the original makers Kimble Rutter, for his classic MG-TC Midget, a carjack, a compressor, and a laptop. He was also presented with a certificate, and a Rotary Select Valve body rescued from the fire debris then restored and mounted on a plaque by MD Dave Mooney. David also celebrated passing the milestone of 40 Years, joining a small band of people who can boast that accomplishment. The other 40-year veterans being Roger Bedford, who is still on the board as Chairman, the late Richard Bradford, and Philip Stanley.
